On any Sunday in Winter, Spring, or Summer, sitting around all day on a Sunday and binge-watching a marathon of any show is only acceptable if you are sick or it’s raining.
Then comes Fall. Football fans sit around the television starting at 1:00pm EST (or as early as 10:00am if you live on the West Coast) and they watch through the end of the end of the 8:00pm game which ends around 11:00pm. They do this for 16 weeks and these people are not considered lazy. We call them football enthusiasts; die-hard sports fans.
I have nothing against these people and usually join them for at least 2/3 of the day. I was just making a point.
As a woman who watches football, I have to say that there are women who truly enjoy the sport and don’t just watch the sport for the “tight ends.” I like setting my fantasy team and picking my Pigskin Pick’ems on ESPN. I understand statistics and love watching a play unfold.
However, it must be noted that sometimes I bring my womanly hormones in to the game. I can’t stand the Patriots – specifically their quarterback – because Thomas Brady is a womanizing pretty boy. That is pretty much the only reason I don’t like the Patriots.
Aside from our long-standing division rivalry, I can’t stand the Cowboys because they are the Mean Girls of the NFL. Everyone thinks that they are amazing and wants to be the number one fan. Well, they aren’t that great and they are not a true representation of the NFL. Jerry Jones (and I’ll be the first to admit that Dan Snyder is just as guilty) is all about the money and the fame that comes with having the biggest stadium in the league.
Boys are silly.
I guess the lesson here is that girls will be girls and boys will be boys.
