So I was all ready to blog about how I love traveling and how flying is so great. But I may have jinxed myself just by thinking it.
The rumor around the terminal right now is that the flight control tower was hit by lightening.
On the plus side, the bars are doing really well. I’m already 4 gin and tonics in and I have interviewed people about living in Colorado, other women visiting their sisters, and have thoroughly discussed the possibility of abandoning my flight and seeing if I can get my luggage off the carts sitting by the gate.
Here are the positive remarks I was going to write:
Day drinking is totally okay. I bellied up to the bar at 12:10 today – 2 hours before my flight – and had a drink in hand by 12:11. I wasn’t even the first one at the bar. The guy next to me was several drinks in. Excellent!
Actually, that’s about it. Obviously the excitement of going on vacation is pretty awesome. I’m excited to go out to Colorado Springs, but the fact that you can sit in a bar at noon and down some gin is pretty awesome.
I met some business men from Columbus, Ohio who bought me a G&T to celebrate my engagement. Actually, only one did. One was married to a red head for 32 years today and the other was recently divorced from a red head. The happily married one bought me a drink because, after 32 years, he still thinks his red head is amazing. Good for him! And congratulations!
So … just got wind that the airport is closed for another 3 hours, at least.
Apparently the roads are also pretty flooded in Colorado.
Is this a sign?
