It seems like the flight out here was just the first in a series of bad luck on this trip,
Now, I had a great time with my sister. We talked, we laughed, and we made the best out of the bad luck. Not to mention that there were some seriously memorable times. Here’s how this trip went.
Now, I was supposed to land around 4:30MT in Denver. Then Tracy and I were supposed to go out to dinner in Denver before we headed south to her university. Well, considering that my flight didn’t get in until almost 11:00pm, we didn’t get to go to dinner.
No big deal, right? Wrong! This is when I was going to ask her to be the Maid of Honor in my wedding. Instead, I uneventfully just handed her the box that had the card wrapped up in it.
But she said yes! Now I have the best MOH ever!
So the next day we went to try on wedding dresses and get some ideas for bridesmaids dresses. My sister said that I looked good in every single dress I tried on that day – even the ones that didn’t match my personality. Apparently I’m beautiful and should be a wedding dress model.
What even better? There’s a 90% chance that I found “the one.” I just couldn’t commit to a dress the first time I went to a store.
We took a chill break after dress shopping.
Later that evening we tried to go to Seven Falls. But the park was closed because of flooding. We did get out of the car to watch the water rushing by.
The next day we grabbed McAlister’s for lunch because that restaurant is amazing and there are none back home.
We tried to go hiking at a park near her school, but that was shut down because of flooding as well.
We did some shopping instead.
Then we had dinner with one of my many fabulous cousins who’s doing the military thing in Colorado. I always forget how much that child can talk, but I certainly do miss having him around.
We were supposed to run the Color Run on Sunday, but we both thought it was at 10:00am. It was at 8:00am.
So we found some others who had missed the race but were still heading to the after party and shared color packets so we would colorfully fit in with the rest of the crowd.
That was disappointing, but things like that happen.
We rinsed off and headed to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Redskins win. But we ended up seeing them look like a hot mess. Not to mention that the TVs went out for part of the game…because of the rain.
Football starts early out here, so we went shopping some more at the Outlets. If you can’t hike in the Rockies, you might as well shop in them.
We saw the greatest rainbow on the way home. It was extremely bright and it was the full arch.
Even though it was rainy and I couldn’t see the mountain almost at all, the whole trip was awesome. I’d come visit my sister a million times, even if I knew that the trip was going to pan out the way it did.
Here’s hoping my flight is on time today!
