Happy New Year! 2014 should be a pretty awesome year. I would like to take a little bit of time to join in on the conversation about dreams for the new year.
2013 presented me with some crazy dreams. I hope to realize some of them in 2014 while others, I hope to forget as soon as possible.
When I was younger, I used to sleep in footie pajamas. I would get very warm and when I get very warm while I am sleeping, I have very vivid dreams. There was one dream that I had over and over again – about a witch who would come to take away any family members who were left by themselves. Those were usually the dreams that made me end up in my parents’ bed. There was also the dream in which I watched my cousin get violently murdered.
Luckily for me, these dreams have calmed down somewhat. They are not always nightmares any more. Sometimes, they are even some of the best dreams a girl could wish for.
My recurring dreams started again this year, except this time they were magnificent.
In 2010 I was living a life of luxury driving my 2002 Jetta that I called Gus. I loved that car a lot. A lot. A lot.
But then my car got totaled on the way to work one winter morning. I was okay thanks to the excellent safety features in the VW.
Anyhow, I now drive a Ford Explorer (that I call Bo) which is also one of the cars from my dreams. As a child, my goal was to own an Explorer. I made that dream come true. However, lately I’ve been having dreams about my Jetta – dreams that make my mother call me weird (but, admittedly, that happens more than it should anyway). Here’s how they go:
I walk out of my house with two sets of keys. Then – this is the best part – I get to choose whether I drive the Explorer or the Jetta. Both of my loves are parked there for me to use.
Here’s hoping that in 2014 I find out that my car wasn’t really totaled and he shows up at my door. Then Gus, Bo, and I can live together in harmony.
Happy and healthy 2014.
