I’ve been befuddled for a long time. Why is there so much animosity toward my kind? We aren’t soulless, no matter what the kids on South Park say. I’m not a giant, soulless ginger; I just want you all to know that.
So how happy was I when I found out that this past Sunday was Kiss a Ginger Day – the fourth, international, and semi-official. According to the Hot For Ginger blog, Kiss a Ginger Day was created in response to Kick a Ginger Day which resulted in redheaded kids getting beaten up at school. Come on now. What kind of cold-hearted people kicks people with beautiful red hair and makes posters like this:
This makes me so mad. What did we do to deserve this?
Let me tell you this: we’re not soulless. In fact, we’re quite the opposite. We like to steal other people’s souls. Want proof?

So, this is my appeal: with the help of International Kiss a Ginger, we need to take back the term “ginger.” There will be no more negative connotation. Time to step up my Ginga’s!
