Traveling home is always interesting. It’s very difficult to get back to reality because bills, working, phone calls, e-mails, cleaning, and waking up early are never tempting.
The Wyoming airport is really small. Remember I told you that we had steps rolled up to the plane instead of walking through a terminal? There were nine gates. Just nine. But seeing the view was cool.
Saturday morning was our return to reality. A few of us got word late Friday night that our flight to Newark had been canceled. It wasn’t that bad. We were put on a flight with some of our other awesome friends and went through Denver so I got to wave to the baby sis as we landed then took off again.
When we landed in Denver, we turned on our phones and they went beep beep beep and buzz buzz buzz. There was a group text message saying that one of our friends had flown back home with Bone Thugs N Harmony who are apparently all over 6 feet tall.
The guy sitting next to me on the plane from Denver to Dulles provided some entertainment as soon as we boarded the plane. We only heard one side of this conversation.
“Can you delete those pictures on my computer.”
“Open the ‘My Pictures’ folders.”
“Delete the ones in there. I don’t want the boys to see them. I didn’t password protect them.”
“They’re the ones of you, baby.”
“Okay. I love you. I’ll call you when I land.”
Someone took some naughty pictures! The guy ended up being really nice. It was pretty awkward for a little bit though.
The only other eventful part of the trip was my dear mother went to another airport to pick us up. It was only about 30 minutes away, but going through Northern Virginia doubled that time. That was a little painful – so close to home, yet so far away. But, our itinerary was confusing because we took off from and landed at different airports.
So…yeah. That was our vacation. It was awesome.
