Lust Love is in the air! Happy Valentine’s day. Whether it be a significant other, a mother, father, sister, brother, or friend, I hope that someone tells you that you are loved.
Speaking of love. You know what I love? America.
I’ve been crying a lot during the Olympics, mostly thanks to the P&G “Thanks Mom” commercials. Have you seen them? Mom’s are really special people. Mine has done so much for me over the years, I feel like I could never even begin to pay her back.
Got tears in your eyes yet?
Well, I did this morning while watching The Today Show.
See, I was unable to stay up and watch the end of the men’s skiing slopestyle event. As it turns out, I get really emotional when the United States sweeps a podium. I suppose I was really proud of my country and was imagining how overwhelming it would be to win a gold medal – or any medal – in the Olympics as a representative of my country with the whole world watching. Wow!
It also didn’t help that they shared the story of the gold medalist’s father passing away in August and how proud he was of his son. I’m telling myself that that’s why I started crying, but I’m admitting to you that I started tearing up well before they started that segment.
In other news…did you see the Swede who is 5’6″ and wears 4XL clothes? Not because he is a hefty or just a big guy. Nope. Because he wanted to. He also carried a raw egg in his pocket, imitating Sanka from Cool Runnings. I like the way the Wall Street Journal described him: “The 5-foot-6 Swede wore a 4XL uniform from his national team that looked less like clothing and more like a sporty pup tent. When Harlaut flipped and twisted off the huge jumps found on the slopestyle’s mountainside course, his snowpants sometimes would sag to his knees.” I would be embarrassed to be from the country he represents.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
