Happy Pi Day!
No. I said Pi Day, not Pie Day!
That’s more like it!
I’m not usually one for nerdy things – well, nerdy math things anyway. I do get excited about alliteration and internal rhyming. But, that’s just good taste.
I may not be a math nerd, but my fiancé certainly is. When I told him today was Pi Day (I was shocked he didn’t already know), he immediately wanted to move our wedding back to March 14, 2015.
Why? Well, next year will be 3/14/15 and, as you can see from the pie above, 3.1415 are the first five digits of pi.
Can you imagine all of the weddings that will take place on 3/14/15? Every character from The Big Bang Theory will probably get married then. I like that show.
He also wanted to serve pie instead of wedding cake.
Are you not convinced that my fiancé is my math nerd yet? Well, someone at his work brought in pie today to celebrate Pie Day.
So, there you see my fiancé gets overly excited about pi…and pie…and lemons. But, he doesn’t get excited about green beer.
Luckily, those are four of the reasons why I like him so much.
Did you know my best friend could – at one point during high school and maybe still – recite pi to, like, the 25th decimal place?
So about that green beer mention in the text…the fiancé and I were talking about playing hooky from
school work. For legitimate reasons. We are planning on planning for our wedding. And taste testing some beverages, maybe.
It’s supposed to snow again anyway, so why not make the most of the day?
Speaking of which…
I think I have powers.
About a year ago, the fiancé and I were talking about how some great music could evolve if [good and legitimate] country musicians were to collaborate with some awesome rock musicians, like Dave Grohl.
Not even a year later, Dave and Zac Brown teamed up to produce an EP. It’s amazing.
Need another example?
Just about a month ago I was saying that the weather should either be sunny and 70 or it should be snowing. I love the snow but hate the heat. Now here we are enjoying sunny days of 60-70 degrees followed by days of snow.
I have powers.
Happy Pi Day!!
